Where to stay in Hong Kong: Cosmopolitan Hotel

We stayed in Cosmopolitan -hotel on my last trip to Hong Kong. The hotel is located near Causeway Bay and Wan Chai. After our visit, the hotel lobby has been renovated, and I hear it's fabulous, so I am really looking forward for my next stay here.

The location of Cosmopolitan Hotel

Cosmopolitan Hotel is located on Hong Kong Island, in the neighbourhood of Wan Chai. The location is pretty good, though there are no restaurants or shops right next to the hotel. Everything you need is a 10-minute walk from the hotel in Time's Square and Causeway Bay. The hotel is also a perfect location if you are into horse racing, as it's right next to Happy Valley with its weekly horse racing events.

Time's Square is a central area with a ton of restaurants, shops and bars. If you walk the other direction, up and down the hill, you'll find a lot of authentic Hongkongese breakfast spots, like the Australian Dairy Company.

Grande Deluxe Course View Room

We stayed at a Grand Deluxe Course View Room, with a fabulous view over the racecourse. The room was a positive surprise as most of the lobby was still under construction. For a hotel room in Hong Kong, it was also pretty spacious.

There are also some pretty groovy themed rooms at Cosmopolitan Hotel, such as the Ocean Park room for families with children or the Sony theme room for those wanting to just watch movies and relax.

Services at Cosmopolitan Hotel

As menitoned above, while the hotel is in a way at a great location, it is still a bit of a walk to the nearest shops and restaurants. But the hotel also offers a shuttle bus service between the hotel and some of the major shopping malls and to the Airport Express train.

The hotel doesn't have its own gym or a pool, but there's a spa at a walking distance to serve the hotel clients. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to go check it out!

Breakfast

Breakfast was definitely more for the Asian taste buds – which in my life also means, for me! I was really missing all the Hong Kong flavours after being away for two years, so I was happy to induldge on noodles and dumplings! There were also some waffles and breaf available, so not to panic! The breakfast room itself might be missing a bit of a facelift, which might be happening do to the current renovation. 

Cosmopolitan Hotel is perfect for those on a bit of a budget, but still looking for a luxurious experience! The location is pretty good, the rooms and views are fabulous & the customer service is on point!
